Wedding Favors That Won’t Get Thrown Away

Wedding Planning

While there is no rule anymore that states you must send your wedding guests home with a wedding favor, it’s still a nice touch, especially if you have room in the budget. If you are going to give your guests a wedding favor in appreciation for coming to celebrate your big day with you, then we always recommend choosing something meaningful or useful. Don’t choose something that will just get easily discarded or forgotten about.

Think through your shared passions. Do you both love wine? Maybe you ought to consider gifting corkscrews or wine stoppers. Or maybe you both love craft beer? You don’t have to give your guests beer, but chic bottle openers would be a great alternative. These antique key bottle openers would be perfect if you have a vintage wedding aesthetic or theme. Or maybe you both love game nights. In that case, a personalized deck of cards would be a great option.

Or maybe you both love adventure and traveling. These Gold Compass favors would be super cute.

Perhaps there’s an object that means something to each of you, even if it’s a joke that a lot of your friends and family will understand. Finding something in the shape of that object would be a good idea.

If you want to give your guests something useful, you might also consider salt and pepper shakers, coasters, or even magnets. A thoughtful idea would be to give them magnetic picture frames. They could slide a photo of themselves from the wedding into the frame and display it on their refrigerator.

Another thing to consider is whether or not your favor can serve as double duty. If you need escort cards or place cards, consider tying each guests’ name to one of those antique key bottle openers or wine stoppers.

Get creative with your wedding favors, but always try to make them meaningful and/or useful. Check out Forever Wedding Favors for a bunch of other ideas!
