I’ve been working with Rachel and Daniel on planning their wedding for several months now, and they are seriously the best. They’re getting married this May at Zen in Greenville, SC, and their wedding is going to be full of so much laughter and love. In the meantime, I asked Rachel some questions so you can get to know her a little better.

Bespoken Bride’s Name:  Rachel

Fiance’s Name:  Daniel

How did you two meet? How long have you known each other? We met on Tinder about 2 years ago, and we’ve been together ever since.

Where do you guys like to go on your dates? We both love roller coasters, so we’ve been on some crazy rides! We also love to hike or go kayaking.

What is your favorite restaurant or type of food? Sushi and hibachi

We go together like….Legos!

Haha, that’s amazing! When did you know Daniel was “the one”? Did he know before you knew? Well, our second date was a weekend at the beach with a group of his friends. It was very spur-of-the-moment for me. He made sure that I had a great time, and I could see then that he was genuinely a good man. We had a blast! When we got back, I think we both knew this was something very special.

That’s so sweet. Tell me about the proposal. Were you surprised?  We had to do the long distance thing for a year, which was hard at first, but we survived! It was only a 3 hour drive between us, so we saw each other on most weekends. One Friday, he got to my house before I did, and he put the ring on one of our puppies’ collar. I got home after a long day of being on-call, and when I picked him up, I found the ring. I had NO idea it was coming, which was the best part!

I love that he put the ring on your puppy! I know you guys love your puppies, so that’s perfect! When and where are you two getting married? What made you decide to get married there? Zen in Downtown Greenville. We have only been living in the area for 7 months, and Zen fit exactly what we were looking for. We are having our Ceremony in their Bamboo Garden and the Reception inside the venue.

What colors are you using for your wedding? Light coral, mint green, charcoal gray, and taupe

It’s going to be so pretty! If you had to describe your wedding in 3 words, what would they be? Off the Chain

HAHAHA! LOVE IT! How would you describe the style of your wedding? I would say the style is a mixture of simple/traditional and edgy. Our florist has a really bold style which I totally love. I’m wearing a simple dress made from raw silk that has a cathedral train with TOMS wedges (highly recommend!). My bridesmaids are wearing a mixture of our color palette. We want the day to be a lot of fun for our guests, so we’ve hired a local food truck, and we’re having an open bar and a photo booth.

What are your top 3 must-haves for your wedding? Excellent, easy-going photographers, the perfect dress (of course!), and perfect music

What is your favorite wedding blog or magazine? You can’t beat The Knot. Real Simple Weddings is great, too.

What have you loved most about planning your wedding? Everything has been easy because of Shannon! I think picking out our wedding bands has been the most fun so far.

Aw, you’re so sweet! Are you guys going on a honeymoon? Where? Why did you choose this location? What are you going to do? We are headed to Key West in May! I’m so excited! We wanted to stay somewhere that looked like a Corona commercial, haha! They have excellent nightlife, shopping, and outdoor activities that we both enjoy, not to mention the beach!

What are you most excited about in your marriage? I am looking forward to growing with him and being able to hang out with my best friend every night.

If you could give any future bride one piece of advice, what would you tell her? Sweat the small stuff…the good small stuff, I mean. Take the time to notice each other throughout the routines of your days. Be silly with each other, and don’t take yourself too seriously.

Thanks for sharing, Rachel! You guys are amazing, and I can’t wait for your upcoming wedding day!!!
